This is concrete proof: in this day and age our voices CAN be heard.
Today, Oprah Winfrey “rescued” Chicago after a 7-day demonstration by self-abducted volunteers for the Invisible Children. (Something that very well might have caused them to gain more attention in the public eye in a given day than any other for the last several years.) This has been such a crucial step in building awareness of the terrible atrocities happening towards thousands of children, their families and many other people in Northern Uganda and it’s surroundings.
If you still haven’t seen the video on their site, I highly recommend taking the time to educate yourself on the issue - Invisible Children. This is a HUMANITARIAN issue, not a political one. People in numerous cities across the globe banded together on April 25th and abducted themselves until someone in the public eye ‘rescued’ them from their sites. As of Tuesday there were only 2 cities left to be rescued.
I truly believe that together we can accomplish ANYTHING.
