I just want to take a minute to tell you about two young individuals from Tacoma, Washington who have really impacted me over the last few days.
When I was introduced to He Is We, it literally took listening to the first 10 seconds of their new demo, “A Mess It Grows”, when I realized that Rachel Taylor and Trevor Kelly have something very unique and extremely special to offer the music world. (I haven’t gotten goosebumps from just listening to a song, like that, in a very long time.) Needless to say all of their songs are great and deserve your time; a few of my personal favorites are: “I Wouldn’t Mind” and “That One About Indifference”.
Yesterday, I went to meet up with Rachel and Trevor in the studio where they’ve been recording their first EP. It was awesome to spend some quality time with them and realize that not only do I admire each of them as musicians, but an even deeper respect has been rooted inside of me for the genuine people that they are and the golden hearts they carry. It’s not every day that I’m blessed with an opportunity quite like that.
So here I am, cordially extending an invitation to check out He Is We. If you like what you hear, add them! Leave them a comment or two telling them what you think! Show them to your friends! GOOD MUSIC DESERVES TO BE RECOGNIZED AND APPRECIATED BY EVERYBODY!
**I will never negate the fact that The Scene Aesthetic wouldn’t be where we’ve gotten today if our fans hadn’t jumped at the opportunity to show their support and spread the word about us when Andrew and I put our very first demo up circa January, 2005.**
Guys, in this day and age we have so many great tools like Myspace, Facebook, Purevolume, Tumblr, Twitter… etc. that grant us the ability to create a buzz about something, on our own, without from the “help” of a traditional “record label”. How awesome is that? Really think about it for a second. Musicians 25 years ago couldn’t fathom such tools for spreading their music.
Now that leaves a lot up to all of you! My only request is this: when you check them out, if you like what you hear, do something to spread the word! I know for a fact that Rachel and Trevor will greatly appreciate it. They have some awesome ideas, plans and goals for what they want to do with their music and I promise you that you’ll be hearing and seeing a lot more of them.
And of course, thanks for reading all of this. :) I’ve typed more than ever I intended to; which is usually the case with me. Haha. I ramble. But regardless, I hope that you guys are having a fantastic Thursday afternoon!
Always,
Eric

p.s. Don’t hesitate to leave a comment here telling me what you think of them! I’d love to know. :)
