I’m really happy to be out on the road right now. The Scene Aesthetic is headling a tour on the east coast called A Summer To Remember. It’s honestly unlike any tour I’ve ever been on. We’re all like one big giant happy family. It’s really cool to feel the unity between everyone out with us right now: Tyler Brown Williams, Stephen Jerzak, The Ready Set & The Color Fred. April, one of my closest friends, is out with us helping sell merch. It’s kind of funny because I was a little nervous about her reacting to the daily, repetitive, mundane things that come with being on the road.. some girls just can’t hack it. But April, isn’t phased one bit. Or at least she doesn’t show it. :) Haha. She’s doing a great job. You wouldn’t know this is the first time she’s ever toured! I’m really glad she’s here. Aileen normally sells merch for the Plain White T’s, but she’s with us tour managing this whole thing. I think we would be lost without her. She’s been extremely organized and good about everything she’s in charge of. Which honestly, I think is a lot more than she ever expected… but I think she realizes that this whole thing is helping her grow, learn and appreciate the  responsibilities of being a tour manager. Her coming with us was very last minute, but has turned out to be one of the best things that could have happened for this tour. Andy, from Danger Radio, is also out with us. He was visiting his girlfriend in New York and offered to come on the road with us and film everything. The kid is seriously so talented at getting cleverly positioned transition and filler clips, not to mention editing them all together. Thanks to him we’re going to be posting regular update videos with all this tour footage. One of the really unique things about this tour is the fact that we’re meeting up at a park near the venue of every show to hang out with all the kids beforehand. It’s been incredible to meet up with so many thoughtful and kind people. I have to admit though, in the past it was hard enough to get to the venue in time to load in, set up merch and get ready before our set. We have to calculate the times just right so that we can make it to the parks at 1pm every day. Usually we’re there for 2 hours playing frisbee, football and lots of other little games. Mainly, it’s cool just to hang out with everyone away from the venue setting and for the opportunity to really get to know some of our fans. It’s really rewarding, but extremely exhausting. The heat has not been our friend. As we continue to head south on the east coast we’re going to start to feel the wrath of humidity. I think it’s been affecting my apetite. I’m definitely losing some weight. Haha. I guess that’s a good thing? I don’t have much to lose.. so hopefully it’s short-lived. We’re in Philidelphia right now. Tonight’s show is sold out and I’m pretty excited about that fact. It started pretty early, so it’s also going to end early which means we’ll have time tonight to go hang out and do something fun in Philly! I hope the rest of this tour proves to be as successful as these first 5 dates have been. I would say that so far, Connecticut has been the best crowd we’ve played in front of. The kids were just so pumped about seeing us that it really didn’t matter what we were singing or what Andrew was playing on guitar. Their voices overpowered ours singing along to the songs. I don’t have words for what that feels like. It’s pretty unexplainably amazing. I feel blessed to be where I am right now in my life. I’m anxious for the future to unfold and for life to continue, but it’s safe to say I’m content right now.
