I’ve been updating my Address Book lately at night before I go to bed. Adding photos and other miscellaneous information for people that lack certain things. It’s something I enjoy doing for about a half and hour before I get bored of it and want to watch The Sopranos or something. - I’m basically just making my Address Book, as a whole, much more helpful when I turn to it for that thank-you card mailing address or that family friend’s phone number that I rarely need to use.
I’ve been looking online for a program that would simplify this whole process and save me the trouble of tediously searching, copying and pasting information from one place to another. I stumbled across a little program called FacebookSync and this was what I read about it:

“FacebookSync syncs your Apple Address Book with data from your Facebook account. Specifically, it pulls down your friends’ names, emails, AIM, mobile phone number, and photo. Adds missing photos, inserts missing information, and adds missing records to your Apple AddressBook. This is perfect if you use iChat or Bluetooth-sync your AddressBook with your cellphone.”

“GREAT!”, I thought. This was exactly the program I was looking for all along. What a wonderful time-saver this will be! Then I read this:

Note from developer:
FacebookSync violates Facebook Terms of Use (6/7/2007)
Facebook contacted me and requested that I stop distribution of FacebookSync since it is in violation of Facebook’s Terms of Use. Sorry to all out there who will miss this useful application.

What a bummer. I was so excited about using this! I’ve been using AddressBookSync to just quickly add missing photos to contacts; but does anyone know of any other software or methods of avoiding the tedious task of updating each contact one by one?
