Eric Kimberlin Bowley |
Hello, my name is Eric. I like to post things; so I can remember them. I sing in a band called The Scene Aesthetic. |
Katy Perry - “E.T.”
I’m guessing this song will eventually be all over the radio if it isn’t already. It’s so freaking catchy. I was really looking forward to Katy Perry’s new album because I love her voice. (She made that new version of “Starstrukk” by 3OH!3 come alive all over again.) Unfortunately there are less songs on her new record that I love than I’d hoped to. This however, is one of the songs I can’t get out of my head. The kind of song you fear that you’ll eventually hate because you listen to it in your mind even when you’re not listening to it hoping it won’t grow old.
Fun Fact: We named a new song of The Scene Aesthetic record after Katy Perry calling it “Katy (Give Me A Shot)”; now to finalize the release of THAT album!
Ho!
Eric here. I just want to take a moment clarify something to our fans and anyone interested in reading this blog entry.
After being home for about a week after our most recent tour with Forever The Sickest Kids and The Ready Set, I began reflecting on something. While we were out on the road we got asked many times about our current full band line-up and what it means for The Scene Aesthetic’s future. — It’s a great question! — I mean, we DID have four extra people up on stage with us at every show.
For the record: The Scene Aesthetic is only Andrew de Torres and Eric Bowley.
It has been that way for the last six years and it will always be that way.
Musically Andrew and I recorded a new album that in every way, shape, and form requires a full-band in order present the songs live in the same way they were recorded. Naturally, we decided to hire some our friends and take them out on tour with us to lend a helping hand. It’s worked out pretty well so far. Every good working machine needs to be oiled properly. The live band line-up is subject to change at any time. Andrew and I have even talked about wanting to bring out a violinist or a cello player sometime, which would be really cool. The point is: there are no limits to how you might see The Scene Aesthetic perform live in the future.
Owl City is Adam Young (but he has hired musicians play with him live). It’s a good example of exactly what I’m trying to explain.
There just shouldn’t be any confusion about what The Scene Aesthetic is and what we’re trying to do. We will not alienate the fans who have grown used to our acoustic side. We can promise you this.

The Scene Aesthetic is celebrating the 4th of July weekend by offering a free mp3 download of “Humans” (a new studio version from their upcoming album, Brother)! Click the link below and have a wonderful weekend! We love you guys so much.
[DOWNLOAD: Humans (Brother version)]
I personally think this version does finally the song justice. I can’t wait for you guys to hear the rest of Brother.
See the little person in the bottom right hand corner laying down in a snow angel formation? That’s my cousin Aaron. He rules.
The Scene Aesthetic does Niagara Falls!
I’m so glad we brought Eddie out on tour with us to sell merch. I have to admit that I was kind of skeptical at the idea of bringing someone I’d never met before out on the road because everyone becomes like family out here and it becomes a gamble and a risk when you decide to bring someone you’ve never worked with before. However, Eddie is the man! He’s a hard worker and I trust him now to do a great job slinging cotton for The Scene Aesthetic.
This tour is going to be a lot of fun. It kinda feels like the A Summer To Remember Tour (part 2).
This little guy is one of the best things about the East Coast. Nugget and his mama Jessica are great and always make me feel like I’m coming home when we make it out here. Isn’t he cute?!
I love it when we get a chance to play acoustically outside the venue after the show.
New Haven, CT was amazing tonight. I always love playing here.
Aaron and I are getting pumped for The Scene Aesthetic’s first show in Chicago, IL at Beat Kitchen!
The Scene Aesthetic will have 3 new shirts available on this tour! I think they turned out great!

I’m proud of my cousin!
We’re so excited to head out on the road tomorrow night to begin the drive to our Chicago show. We have a feeling that this tour with Forever The Sickest Kids, The Ready Set & A Cursive Memory is going to be a lot of fun. It’s going to take us a few days to get out to the East Coast from Seattle, but we are all so anxious and eager to play for you guys!
If you’re planning on coming to any of these shows you’ll immediately notice that it isn’t just Andrew and Eric up on the stage with one acoustic guitar. We’d like to introduce who we’re taking out on the road with us! Because of the fact we’re going to be playing a more full band sounding set, we’re bringing some close friends of ours on tour with us to help out!
- Eric Bowley – vocals
- Andrew de Torres – vocals, guitar
Live Band:
- Jesse McDaniel – keys
- Marvin Kunkel – bass
- Aaron Bowley – drums
- Andy Brookins – guitar
We hope you’re having a fantastic day today!

If you could ask us any question you wanted and we promised to give an honest answer, what would you ask?KISS 106.1 FM - Danielle Knight’s Blog:
Yesterday the wonderful guys from The Scene Aesthetic (and some of their friends/family!) stopped by our studio to chat! We talked about their work with Cary Brothers (who I so brilliantly called “The Cary Brothers” ha), their upcoming tour and album, and their awesome covers (like Taylor Swift “Love Story” and The Postal Service!)! They also performed their single “Never Gonna Let This Go” for us!
A huge thank you to Danielle & Izzie from KISS 106.1 FM for letting us come in yesterday. We had so much fun! Great questions too!
